Location: Buffalo, NY Reports To: Manager of Engineering
- Engineering support for the Sales Department, including the making of calls with Stetron sales personnel and/or representatives (must be prepared to travel – accommodating the needs/schedules of Stetron and its representatives).
- Stetron resource for thermistor and speaker product families.
- Responsible for technical training and presentations to inside sales/engineering personnel, as well as representatives, and customers.
- Maintain contacts with Stetron's overseas factories relative to day-to-day operation, R&D of new products, as well as supporting the Quality Engineer to ensure compliance with existing specifications and agreed to design parameters.
- In cooperation with the Electronics Technologist, responsible for component evaluation, including preparation and assessment of suitability of sample submissions.
- To complete and/or provide technical direction for required forms when submitting Stetron components for customer approvals (PPAP, Gauge R&R, etc.).
- To complete and/or provide technical direction for 8-D reports in the event of customer requested corrective action or customer-found non-conforming Stetron product.
- Provide technical guidance in the development of new product and applications in order to improve and expand the product range and market penetration.
- Preparation of suitable literature and engineering data for products sold by Stetron.
- Provide technical input for set-up and monitoring of QC functions. Assist in identifying technical production problems related to quality and cost of product.
- Assist in the design of text fixtures to be used for QC and/or product evaluation purposes.
- To provide management with engineering counsel and desirable objectives in order to develop suitable and attainable goals relative to Stetron's engineering capability and requirements.
- To work well with all Stetron managers, staff members, suppliers, principals and customers to the overall benefit of all concerned.
- To be thoroughly familiar with Stetron core products, especially speakers and thermistors. Should be able to identify and suggest substitutes, where applicable.
- Proficient with AutoCAD and other CAD software packages
- To work closely with Stetron sales personnel, including making visits to customers in order to develop new opportunities and to actively stimulate the utilization of Stetron products.
- To be a "hands on" individual, able to make measurements with electronic test instruments such as oscilloscope, voltmeters, LCR bridges, etc. and be able to analyze technical data and measurements.
- Must be able to work well with our factories' as well as customers' engineers and assist them, wherever necessary, on component application and other technical matters. To visit the factories to gain first hand knowledge, when required.
- Should have adequate knowledge in electronic circuitry and have the mathematical skills to be able to work out the critical parameters in the application of components.
- To be familiar with quality control concepts and procedures, such as TQM, ISO9000, QS9000, SPC, etc.
- To be a "people person" with good communication skills.
- A highly motivated individual who is prepared to assume responsibility and is willing to take initiative ensuring the timely completion of tasks.
- An individual who displays an acute sense of urgency, understanding that the Stetron organization requires ambitious employees to achieve the growth rate needed to expand and grow the business. This attitude translates into larger revenues, larger profits and ultimately higher salaries and bonuses, as well as opportunities for advancement.
- Chinese language skills (Mandarin and Cantonese ) are considered an asset.
