Metal Oxide Varistor Terminology

Varistor Voltage Voltage measured @ 1mA VDC across the varistor @ 25°C (Current @ 0.1mA for size 05D NR, ZM & ZR). Should be 10% higher than circuit working voltage.
Maximum Voltage Maximum continuous VAC or VDC that the varistor can safely operate @ 85°C.
Maximum Clamping Voltage Peak Voltage that MOV will pass when a standard 8/20µs surge current is applied.
Transient Energy The maximum energy absorbed by the MOV when a 2µs pulse at a specified current is applied, which results in a varistor voltage change of ±10%.
Maximum Transient Current Peak current (within ±10% voltage range) that can be safely applied to the Current MOV in one (8/20µs) pulse.
Power Dissipation Maximum power that can safely be applied @ 85°C.
Capacitance Nominal value (pF) measured @ 1kHz test frequency.
Temperature Coefficient Varistor voltage change = -0.05% /°C, 20°C to 70°C
Operating Temperature Continuous working ambient temperature range -40 ~ +85°C
Storage Temperature Continuous preserving temperature range: -40 ~ +125°C
