What is a Waterproof Microphone

A waterproof microphone is a microphone that could work normally in a certain water environment. Waterproof microphones must meet a set of standards, called IPX, to be classified as waterproof microphones. For example, a waterproof microphone can be rated to IPX7 or IPX8. An IPX7 rating means that a Waterproof Microphone can be dropped in water up to 3 feet for 30 mins and it should still work normally. An IPX8 rating means that a waterproof microphone will work in water over 3 feet deep.
